To be overcomers as Jesus instructed (Jn. 14:12;  Mat. 10:7-8; Mk.16:17-18; Acts 1:8; Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21; 21:4, 7 – KJV traditional edn.) we need to understand what he really did on the Cross and in the Resurrection

Have we got the Cross and Resurrection right?

Synopsis:

Is - - or was God ever - - punishing, changeable and adversarial? Jesus was like his God - - all-good - - and the result was power over evil.

To overcome the ancient harsh, death-sacrifice-demanding type of God, and the scapegoat system whereby sinners escaped by shoving sins off onto others, Jesus voluntarily underwent that system. He went to the bottom of evil, then - - at-one (Jn. 17:20- 23) with his all-good God - - overcame it. He bled in this battle breaking our "prison" (Isa. 42:7; 61:1; Lk. 4:18) of death, which we could not have done.

We are saved from the grip of the world's death, not from death imparted from his God in whom is no death.

He told us to do his works (Jn. 14:12; Mat. 10:7-8; Mk. 16:17 -18; Acts 1:8; Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21; 21:4, 7 – KJV).

But under the harsh-God, victim and scapegoat theory, we are told to do nothing but accept his victimization. Which is correct? Today, much of Christianity is not even attempting to do his works.

So do we have Jesus right? Are we on the right track - - or temporarily sidetracked?

The Age of Overcoming awaits our further awakening to what Jesus really did on the Cross and in the Resurrection.
